NORTHCOTE FUNCTION.

BRILLIANT SUCCESS.

The annual ball held under the aii-|iiee< ivf the N'nrtlieute committee of Ihe I'lunket Society in the King's Thentre. at Northcote, last night was a brilliant success.

Wearing white georgette Josephine Empire frocks, with black velvet corsage and ribbon*, four exhibition dances were given by Mifli-e* Natalie Stratton. Inez (ii.iee. Oli\e Mathias and June Killip. with th->ir partners. Led by Miss I'omthy Wood the whole gathering then took pert in the Chestnut tree. The president. Mrs. Archie Campbell. wearing a lmtdel gown of black taffeta faile, was assisted as hostess by the vice president*, -Mrs. W. E. Carter, in Moral georgette. Mrs. A. W. Christmas. pale gTeen taffeta, Mrs. P. J. Hawke. black silk velvet and diamante tritnniing. Mrs. 1). 11. Oppcrman. black suede crepT-. and Mrs. F. C. Truman, midni"'it bi:ie georgette over floral satin.

The Auckland centre of the society 1 was rep re sen ted by the president, Mrs. .1. C. Allan. Mrs. ,)'. H. Frater, executive member, and Mr. J. H. Frater, chairman of the Auckland Pltinket advisory board. The Birkenhead Plunket committee was represented by the president, ?.lrs. Erie Chambers. ti;e vice-presidents, Mre. Keith H. Holdgate, Mrs. W. B. Darlow, Mrs. R. M. Saddington and Mrs. C. E. Napier. The gathering included the honorary medical advisers. Dr. U. G. lluddi'i.! and Dr. K. H. H.-Idgatc; the Mayoress of Northcote Mrs. R. Martin. Mis. J. F. Potter, of Hamilton, the town clerk of Xortheot'.'. Mr. (1. M. Killiam ii nd Mrs. Kilhani.
