OLD THAMES GIRLS.
MONTHLY MEETING. The Old Thames (iirl«' Association held their monthly meeting in the Pitt Street Methodist Hull yesterd'iv afternoon. The president, Mrs. Alfred Oldham, presided at the meeting. The speaker was the Rev. .T. TTalliday, who took for his subject the ilower and influenee of women in the world. Mr. Hnllidav expressed the opinion that the home life which existed 30 or 40 years afro had been a tremendous power for good, and the lack of it in the lives of the youn<j people of to-day was the muse of much distress in tlio world at the present time. A programme of son<rs by Mrs. K. Rosser and the Rev. Everill Orr. recitations by Miss E. F. Wells and pianoforte solos by Mrs. N. Walker were enjoyed. As a mark of respect to the memory of the late Miss M. Carnie, who had been an enthusiastic member of the a«sociation for nearly 13 years, n minute's silence was observed by members.
