TENNIS CLUBS' COMBINED BALL
Successful Function At Peter Pan.
Bowls of golden chrysanthemums and Iceland poppies mixed with blue irises made an effective decorative scheme in the Peter Pan Cabaret last night when the joint committees of the. Kden and Epsom, Parnell and Kciniiorii Lawn Tennis Clubs held a successful "grass court ball." As well as a large number of members from the three clubs then; was a representative gathering of members of the various other Auckland tennis clubs. The guests were received by the presidents of the three clubs. '.Mr. A. \V. Christmas, of the Reniucia Chib, Mr. I), l>. Yickerman. of the Parnell Club, and Mr. A. K. Turner, of t!ie Kden and Epsom Club. They were assisicd by Mrs. Christmas, who was wearing a frock of midnight blue soupl-2 satin; Mrs. Vickerman, who wore a frock of forget-me-not blue relieved with silver lame; and Mrs. Turner, who was in black angelskin lace. Committee Members. Members of the ladies committee present included: Mrs. Robert King, wife of the chairman, who was wearing a frock of black georgette relieved with rose-coloured flowers; Mrs. Lindsay Would, who was in a frock of shell pink chiffon; Mrs. S. W. W. Tong, who wore flame chiffon beaded with diamante; Miss Pamela Cooke, who vore ivory taffetas; Mies Mary Rogerson. in white chiffon; Mim Patience Robertson, black lace; Miss .loan Stewart, emerald green chiffon; Miss JJetty Coe. black chiffon; Miss Molly McGechie, ivory patterned crepe; Miss Shirley Griffiths, leaf green I and rose patterned silk; Mies liunty Raeburn, black taffeta banded with white; Mis« Thorn Stace, Chinese red taffeta; Miss Errol Cropper, coin spotted black tulle; and Miss Prudence Wallace, pink crinoline frock.
