LONDON SALES, LATE VALUES MAINTAINED. (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, May 9. At the wool sales 8351 bales were offered, including 4264 New Zealand, and 7400 bales were sold. A fairly -rood selection met further Home trade "buyinjr, with ratee generally maintained. New Zealand scored combing "Avieinove." Lid to "MVkl: "Clenthills," 17V4d to 2OV6d: greasy halfbred "Wharunui," lOVid to ll%d.
WELLINGTON CHEQUE FIVE SALES £1,742,100. (By Telegraph.— Tress Association.) WELLINGTON', Tuesday. The gross proceeds of the five wool sales held at Wellington this season totalled ill.7W.Hjp. compared with £1.550,605 for the _ l!Ki7-,'jS season. The increase of C 15.1.5.";.-) was due to the larjrer quantity til \v<H>\ sojd. This season's total i«, how-i-ver, £1.060,309 less than the total of £2.811.409 realised at the Wellington sales during the 1030-37 season. Tho official return compiled by the Wellington Woolbrokere' Association jrives the result of the final sale held on April 24 as follows:—Bales offered, 25.752; bales sold, 24,930; bales passed in, 802. Net weight sold: 8,760.1921b; arose proceeds, £318,360 17/8; average price a bale, £12 15/2; average price per lb, 8.713 d. ANTWERP FUTURES LOWER. LONDON, May 9. The Antwerp futures market is steady.
