SOUTHERN CRITICISM. FOOTBALL RUN BY "SMALL TOWN" POLITICS. FATES AGAINST CANTERBURY. (By Telejrraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. "We are run by 'small town' politics in Xew Zealand football," said the president of the Canterbury Rugby Union, Mr. J. K. Moloney, at a meeting of the management committee to-night, when reporting. on the recent annual meeting of the NewZealand Uniom Mr. Moloney said the failure of one of the Canterbury Union's nominees to secure appointment to one of the major offices on the union wag due to lobbying on behalf of the nominee of email unions. "We did our best, but the fates were against us," he aaid. The Canterbury delegates, in their innocence, had thought that only South leland delegates voted for South Island representatives on the council, but they were surprteed to find that North island delegates voted also. However, they were gratified that Mr. J. H. Parker had been elected to the union executive. "The worst mooting I have even been at," was Mr. Moloney's description of that part of the gathering which considered remits for submission to the international conference. Moloney. The Imuis of representation at X.Z.K.F.r. delegates' meetings is: Unions having under 30 teams, one vote; 30 teams and under (JO, two votes; 00 teams and under 00, three votes; 90 teams ami under 120, four votes; 120 teams and over, live votes. Auckland has 135 teams.
