FEARS BULGARIA.

Serious View Of Situation

Taken.

AGREEMENT WITH BRITAIN. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, April 4. The recently demobilised reservists are being called up. Infantry reinforcements were sent to the Bulgarian frontier after reports that Bulgarians were moving toward the Rumanian frontier. Unconfirmed reports say that Bulgaria has asked Germany whether she will support claims to Southern Dobrudja. which was ceded to Rumania after the second Balkan War. The Rumanian Government's serious view of the international situation lias caused King Carol to cancel receptions for the time being. M. Gafencu. Foreign Minister, may postpone his visits to Turkey, London. Paris and Rome. It is understood that M. Tilea has been entrusted with far-reaching plans, aiming at the preservation of Rumanian independence, which will be negotiated in London. It is authoritatively stated in Paris that Rumania has agreed to accept a British guarantee. This might take the form of a military agreement under which Poland, and Rumania also, would receive unlimited supplies of munitions and war aeroplanes from Russia in the event of aggression. Britain and Rumania are now negotiating with Turkey and Greece with a view to completing a defensive systemIt in understood, says Reuters Bucharest correspondent, that Britain inquired on Saturday regarding Rumania's . potential needs in tbe event of aggression. The inquiry, which involved chiefly air and naval strength, greatly gratified official circles. A British official wireless message says that answering a question in the House of Commons, the Foreign Undersecretary. Mr. R. A. Butler, said the British Government was prepared at all times to give sympathetic consideration to the possibility of meeting the naval as well as other armament requirements of Rumania.
