PEOPLE'S UNIVERSITY.

An address on "Can a Man Make Himself?" was given last night by the Rev. A. B. Chappell at a meeting of the People's University. Mr. C. D. McLean presided. Quoting from the aims and objects of the organisation, Mr. Ohappell referred to the phrase "To stir up a lifelong impulse to self-tuition." This included tuition by books and lectures, but there were limits to self-tuition. A man eager !to make himself should be fair to facts land fair to words. The People's University could do much to foster tthi*.
