TAKAPUNA SECTION.
GIFT TO HOSPITAL BOARD. FOR NURSING SERVICES. The Auckland Hospital Board decided last evening, to accept with thanks an offer by Mrs. W. R. Wilson of a quarteracre section in Killar/iey Eoad, Takapuna, to be used in the centralisation of district nursing services on -the North Shore. It was stated that adjoining this section was an area of approximately three-quarters of an with ;i hall, under the control of trustees. It was understood that the trustees would be prepared to hand this property over to the board. Dr. Northcroft reported that in company with the lady superintendent, she had inspected the property and was of the opinion that it was eminently suitable, when certain building alterations were made, as headquarters for both the district nurse and the district maternity nurse. The buildings committee was instructed to report on the proposal to acquire and alter the building to provide accommodation for the two nurses and also an ante-natal clinic. The maternity services committee stated tjiat offers of properties were received in connection with the board's proposal to establish an ante-natal clinic in the Henderson and Onehunga districts. Those in the Henderson district had been inspected, but as it was the opinion of the committee that Xcw Lynn would be a more suitable centre than Henderson, it was decided that further consideration should be deferred until investigations were made in this district.
