OVERDID IT.

ANNIVERSARY "DRUNKS." LONG LIST IN POLICE COURT. Auckland is only a year off it? 100 th birthday, after all, and in the light of that achievement there was probably some excuse for so many of its citizens overdoing a little the custom of wetting the city'e head during the week-end. The names of no fewer than 16 "plain drunks"—statutory first offenders—were called in the Police Court to-day, as well as those'of a handful of the more, experienced class who had done the same thing once before during the past six months. Aβ a result, the Consolidated Fund will 'benefit to the extent of about £15.
