HAMILTON REGATTA.
POSTPONED TILL SATURDAY. ALL CREWS TO TAKE PART. (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star.") HAMILTON, this day. At a special meeting of the regatta committee, held at 10 o'clock this morning, it was decided to postpone the regatta until Saturday morning. All visiting crew* have signified their intention of taking part, including the Clifton champion four. RAIL TRAFFIC. EXCURSIONS CANCEUUEB. Owing to the postponement of the regatta at Hamilton and the show at Hclensville, Hperial train arrangements had to be abandoned. Those for the Ellerslie races were not affected. It was not expected this morning that the weather would make any difference to the large number of people travelling by the Main Trunk expresses and ltookings continued to be heavy. Bookings for the extra express which is to leave Auckland 30 minutes after the departure of the Limited are also heavy. DARGAVILLE DRENCHED. OVER 4H INCHES OF RAIN. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DARGAVILLE, thk day. < Slightly over 4J»n of rain fell iq the , 24 hour* ended 9 a.m. to-day, making a total for the month of 4.72 in. The ■ Northern Wairoa Scottish Society's nnual Highland dancing contents and ports, and the Dargaville Bowling Club'ei pairs tournament, set down for to-day, were postponed. Service care from Opononi, via Walpoiia Forest, ran their regular service to-day. Cars from Kaihu, via Waihue, and Te Kopuru and Whangarei, all made connection with the morning's railhead bu* service.
