GRAIN AND PRODUCE.
CANTERBURY MARKETS.
(By Telegraph.—Prese Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. The Canterbury grain and produce markets have not been very active this week and there have been few changes in quotations. Samples of wheat that have come in have shown the same good quality as earlier ones,, but they are still j confined practically to North Canterbury! crops. , Threshing was interrupted by showers of rain this week, but it ought to be in full swing in a week or eo. " Oat samples, like wheat, continue to be excel- I lent, but merchants are not findinz it easy ' to quit their stock. A Cartons are quoted , at 2/6 and B's at 2/4. \ Further lots of ryegrass have come on the market, but they have nearly all been very disappointing, showing, the same low germination as earlier samples. A. few lots of plains cocksfoot have been offering at 6d, but it will be two or three weeks yet before the Akaroa seed is on the market in any quantity.
