HEAVY SHIPMENTS.

SUPPLY OF FERTILISER. i NUMBER OF CARGOES DUE. • To-morrow the second large shipment of fertiliser to arrive in Auckland within a week will be landed by the Anchor Line's new motor ship Puriri, which is due from Immingham. The Ruahine diecharged a part cargo of basic slag from the North of England last week, and in addition there are six ships en route for New Zealand with fertiliser on board. The next will be the French motor ship Pierre L.D. on February 12. The British motor ship Windsor wood, with a cargo of siag from Client, is expected on February 23, and the Union Company's new cargo steamer Komata will reach port from Immingham about February 25. From Antwerp, the Norwegian motor ship Titanian is expected on March 5, and the Shaw Savill and Albion uteamer Tairoa on March 16. The British steamer Ambassador, from Imiiiingham. should also arrive about the middle of March. |

Three shipments of guano from the Seychelles Group, in the Indian Ocean, will be made to Auckland this season. Two are at present being discharged at King's wharf from the German auxiliary barque Kommodore Johneen and the British steamer Llnndaff. The third is expected early in March by the Finnish barque Killoran.

For the first time for many years cargoes of phosphate will reach Auckland this year from Sfax, a seaport of Tunis, North Africa. Both will be brought by Greek steamers, the Ad«lfotig being due on February 15, and the Adelfoi Chandris in March. In addition to these isolated cargoes the fairly regular series of shipments from Nauru and Ocean Island will be maintained.

A number of cargoes of sulphur will come from the United States. The German steamer Anhnlt. arriving tliis afternoon, ban a part cargo and the British steamer Beatus, due on Monday, has n full cargo for discharge at Xew Zealand ports.
