SPEEDWAY RAGES.

SUCCESS OF REYNOLDS. AMUSING NOVELTY EVENT Superb driving by Bill Reynolds, of Knglnml, .tikl Swede Lindskog. of America, the improved form of several local speed merchants and an hilarious novelty race were features of the programme of midget car and motor cycling event* at the Western Spring* Speedway on Saturday night. J)e-spite threatening weather conditions, there was another big crowd, which evinced great enthusiasm throughout. Reynolds had comfortable wins in two of his three match race* with Lindskog and drove with superlative skill to win the 12-liip race, as well as showing up well in hi* other events. Lindskog showed his best form to date and seemed to be getting more kick out of his machine in all his wen. Max Hushes and Ron Roycroft were the best of the local men and both are improving rapidly. Hughes is in the lead for the Butcher Cup. with 10 points, five points ahead of Koycroft. With 17 points Lindskog leads for the I'rquhnrt Cup, F. Brewer being second with 10. In the novelty race the four starters had to cover the laet lap on magnificent dappled grey horses. Only two managed to complete the course and the efforts of the riders to stick on their powerful mount* had the crowd roaring with laughter. The times for the races in general continue to improve and the time trials were, on the average, the fastest of the season. The motor cycling events provided some excellent races, which were obviously appreciated by the spectators'. There were no bad casualties, although there were a couple of nasty-lookinc snia«li-nps. and the enjoyment of the crowd was unadulterated. Details of the events are as follows: — MIIMJET CAR EVENTS.
