GIBSON AND WOOD. SUBURBAN CHAMPIONSHIP. It was not until Saturday week that the first club century of the season was compiled in the Auckland City and Suburban Cricket Association's senior competition, so that it was rather more remarkable that two more should be scored last week. The players successful on Saturday were the youthful Trevor Gibson (Dilworth Old Boys) and F. Wood (Brixton), who followed the example set by J. Matthews (Ponsonby). Gibson had, however, also hit a three-figure tally for Suburban colts against the Wellington Brabin Cup XI. at Christmas. As Green Lane beat Manukau outright the former club now has a two points lead over R.V., last year's champion, who, together with Brixton, won their games on the first innings on Saturday. Impressive bowling figures were returned by A. Dunning (Manukau), eleven for 73: C. Kerr (Green Lane) seven for 37, and C. S. .Wildman (R.V.) five for 74.
