MOTORING MISHAPS.
TWO FORTUNATE ESCAPES. When the car in which they were travelling wan involved in a collision with another car at the intersection of Mount Kden and Balmoral Roads on Saturday evening and turned over several times bfToro coming to rest about a hundred feet down Mount Eden Road, two people had a remarkable escape from injury. The car, driven by Mr. S. Fisher, of Avondale, was badly damaged, though none of the glass was broken. The other car, driven by Mr. A. D. Hanson, of Mount Albert, wae only slightly damaged, the front mudguard bfing torn off.
The occtipante of a small saloon model car had a fortunate escape from injury when their car struck a pole and overturned on the Great South IJoad. near Southdown last evening. The car, driven by Mrs. (i. Olsscn, of 3, Blake Street, Ponsonby, was travelling northward when a dog suddenly ran across the road near the Church Street intersection. The driver swerved to avoid the animal with the result that the car etruck a pole and came to rest on its hood. The occupants were not injured.
