In the semi-finals of the Australian women's tennis singles championship, Mrs. Hopman defeated Miss Coyne, 6—3, B—4, aud Mrs. Westacott defeated Miss Hartigilt), ft—2, ft—3. The council of the Australian Lawn Tennit Association has decided that trie Australian Davis Cup team will not visit Wimbledon this year, but will go direct to the United States.
