BRISBANE, January IS. Since 1921 there has been no legal provision in Queensland for pensions for judge*. Soon the Chief Justice will reach retiring age, and a chance remark in Court recently began aa animated discussion ia legal circles. Both barristera and solicitors have urged the need for pensions for judges, who, they claim, often make big financial samOcee by going on the Bench. That their careers as judges should be clouded by fears for the future is shameful, say the practising legal tncn.
