(From Our Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Friday. "Fifty miles an hour is art excessive speed through any town," eaid Mr. J. Moiling, S.M., when imposing a fine of £2, with eoste, 10/, on Percy Raymond Allport, of 14, Hunter Street, Hamilton (Mr. N. S. Johnson), who was charged before him in the Hamilton Police Court with exceeding the speed limit of 30 miles an hour through Ohaupo on December 10. Mr. F. C. J. Cook, for the traffic department, stated life had followed accused's car on the niglit in question at a speed of 50 miles an hour. A plea of gtfilty was entered. j A taxi-driver, Roy Kenneth Dey, of j Nixon Street, was fined £1, with costs' 10/, on a similar offence. Evidence was given that defendant's greatest speed through Ohaupo was 45 milef an hour. |
