MOTHER GOMES TO RESCUE..

(From Onr Correspondent.) WAIHI, Friday. While playing on the hanks of a creek at the Waihi Beach, Tom Spearing, aged 14, received a deep cut on the head and was unconscious wlen he fell on to the stony bed of the atream. The lad, in leapiiig from the bank, and missed his graap of a swing rope. On going to Bpearing's assistance his companions were held at bay by his dog and one of them was bitten. It was not until his mother arrived that the unconscious boy wm picked up. He was attended by Dr. Lawrence, of Te Aroha, and later admitted to the Waihi Hospital. Hia condition is not serious.
