BUT LARGE FEET.
BANDIT'S DISGUISE FAILS. SOUGHT BY FRENCH POLICE. (By Air Mail.) PARIS, January 6. A dangerous motor bandit, disguised as a blonde, is sought by police throughout France. He is 'Le Belle Suzanne" to his associates, "Madame Suzanne Thiedaut" to his victims, but just plain Andre Schwindenhanimer, 29-year-old burglar, car thief and swindler, to the police.
He narrowly escaped capture when touring his native Vosges in a stolen oar.
Andre felt safe in a remote hotel 4000 ft up among the pine trees, but, in spite of his lovely blonde curls his perfectly manicured hands, his smart green tailor-made and his slim figure, the hotel proprietor became suspicious.
The visitor's feet were unusually large and "her'' voice had a curious over-tone.
The village police was informed and investigated. "Madame Thiedaut" admitted that "she" was really a man, but the police could find no motive for detaining him.
He was told to return later to show that his car license was in order.
Twelve hours later, when they learned who the suspect really was, and that he was sought by the police in Marseilles, Lyons and Chalon. they received a telephone call from a town 100 miles away. It was Schwindenhammer, saying that he did not think he could bring his car license for' verification, as it bore the name of a woman, and he did not wish to compromise her. He then rang off. How the police are looking for him.
