MOTORIST FINED.
INTOXICATION CHARGE. After a lengthy hearing in the Police Court, yesterday Donald Herbert Dean was fined £.1 for being in a state of intoxication while in charge of a motor car in Onetann-i Road. Waiheke Island, on December 2ft. Mr. Ifidinden represented Dean, who denied tin- summons charge. Mr. W. R. McKean. N.M., said that if the offence had taken place iu the citv and not on \\ ,iilieke Island, where the volume of traffic was insignificant, he would have sent defendant to prison. Dean's driving license was cancelled for six months.
