PENZANCE PLCAtCS. ESQUIRE SHOWS IMPROVEMENT. Fast work at Takanini this morning was carried out on the middle grass and the plough tracks, both of which provided excellent going. Our Jean, Penxance an<J Esquire hit out in attractive style. On tht Grass. Valamito (Bartle) beat Hot Box (Smith) decisively over seven furlongs, !>ut they were not timed. Silver Glow (Parkinson , finished half a length ahead of Pleuron (Beguley) over the last four of five furlonip, run in S3 3-Bm. Braailian (Reguley) was holding High Bea (Parkinson) at the conclusion of six furlong*, which tool: 1.10 2-0. Pocket Venus (Smith) was two lengths clear of Btrstbearn (BeguleyJ after traversing Are furlongs in 1.4. Lady Fox (Beguley) sprinted three furlongs in 38 n~m. doing it nicely, and Dutch Oiri (Quedley) had an advantage over Villimcen (Coleman) at the end of five furlongs in 1.3. Bon Star (Smith) and Gay Opal (Clifford) reeled off half a mile in CI 1-Sfl. Prom a barrier start Esquire (Clifford'. jtiinpnil out smartly to lead Anopheles H'Uwi'll) and the Silent Miss colt over three furlongs, which they covered in 37 3-fls.
