YORKSHIRE SOCIETY.
MEMBERS MEET. A most enjoyable evening was spent last night in the Xew Savoy Tearooms. Karangahape Road, by memltere and friends of the Yorkshire Society of Auckland, when they met for the first time this year. Mrs.'Ashworth and Mi*. Caton acted as hostesses, in the absence of Mrs. Staley. wife of the president. Dancing and whist were enjoyed—the winners of the cards being Mns. Gimblett and Mr. Knapton. Mrs. Banks, who haw carried off the lucky number prize several times previously, again had to present herself as the holder of the winning ticket and also a few minutes later as the winner of the Monte Carlo, together with her |«rtner. Mr. H. Haywood. The prizee were donated by Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Ward. The president announced particulars of the moiety's annual picnic, which will be held at Castor Bay very shortly. '
