YCUNG THEATRE MANAGER. EMPLOYERS' MONEY STOLEN. (By . Telegraph.—Prens Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. > Charged with the theft of a total of £100 15/, the property of the J. G, Williameon Corporation, Limited, while employed a« a servant of that company, Cyril Kempt (28), theatre manager, pleaded guilty in the Police Court to-day and was committed for sentence. There were three charges. Accused, who was manager of the Kilbirnie Theatre, in a statement to the police admitted retaining money lor his own use. The reason for his lapses was that he lost a great deal of money through playing cards. He had since played card* and backed horse* in order to recoup his losses. .He had not used the money in repaying debts, but in playing cards in order to get money to pay his debts. At one time he owed £200. It was later that he went, of his own free will, to executive officers of the company and made a voluntary confession.
