AUCKLAND CLUB.
CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH PLAY.
The first rounds of the senior and junior championships of the Amckland Ladies' Golf Club were played at Middlemore this morning. In the qualifying play last Friday Mis. W. S. Ralph led the field bv 16 strokes, her aggregate being 162 (79 and 83). Her nearest rival was Mrs. F. F. Ferguson. 178.
Both players won their matches this morning, though Mrs. Ferguson was 3 down at one stage to Mrs. Rainger. The results were:—
; Seniors.—Mrs. W. S. Ralph beat Miss X. Ballantyne, 5 and 4; Mrs. B. Robertson beat Mrs. C. J. Green, 5 and 4: Mrs. G. C. Henderson beat Mrs. A. M. Grant, 3 and 2; Miss X. McCormick beat Miss X. Xoakes at the nineteenth (after Miss Xoakes had been donny 2 up); Mrs. J. W. Craven beat Miss C. Rainper, 3 and 1: Mrs. W. P. Endean beat Mrs. R. P. Towle, 2 and 1 (the winner commenced with three bogeys and an eagle); Mrs. J. M. Wilson beat Mrs. H. R. Hughes, 3 and 2; Mrs. F. Ferguson beat Mrs. R. S. Rainger, 2 and 1.
Juniors.—Mies L. Cutfield bent Mrs. E. P. Xeale, 7 and 6; Miss M. Savage beat Mrs. R. J. Bartle, 5 and 4: Mrs. D. L. Johnston beat Mrs. H. W. Wilson, 4 and 2: Mrs. B. C. Jacobs beat Mrs. R. D. WrigTit. 2 and 1; Mrs. G. K. Matheson beat Mtb. W. B. Souter, 3 and 2; Mrs. B. S. Finn beat Mrs. R. G. Bennett 3 and 2; Mis* B. Xolan beat Mr*. C. H. Knight. 4 and 3; Mrs. S. T.' Robinson beat Mrs. R. E. Alpe, 3 and 2.
