TE AROHA, Monday.

In the Magistrate's Court, before Messrs. A. D. Jones and J. A. Hepburn, J.P.'s, a Maori, J. Dixon Mita, was charged with assaulting his father-in-law, Tony Barbarich. In the course of an altercation in Whitaker Street the latter was knocked down, and in the fall broke a large plate-glass window in the premises of Hetheringtons, Limited, his head being cut, necessitating several stitches being inserted. Accused was convicted and ordered to come up when called upon. The Bench stated that a heavy fine would affect the family of six children. Mita agreed to take out ai prohibition order. I
