COMPLETE REST.

BISHOP OF WELLINGTON.

STRENGTH OVERTAXED,

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)

WELLINGTON, Monday

Having overtaxed himself in bis vigorous campaign to raise funds for building a new cathedral, the Bishop of Wellington, the Kt. Rev. H. St. Bar be Holland, acting on doctor's orders, left Wellington to-day to take a complete rest in the country. He has cancelled his engagements and will take no part in church affairs until his return about October 13. In the meantime all diocesan business will he administered by the Vicar-General, Archdeacon W. Bullock.

Bishop Holland's absence will mean the postponement of bis intended visits to Wellington city parishes, where he was personally to have launched the Anglican centennial appeal. It is understood, however, that on his return he will resume his programme at the point where has has been obliged to abandon it.

His recent whirlwind tour of the entire country portion of the diocese, visitjng in the course of seven or weeka every parish outside Wellington City and suburbs, was a tremendous endeavour and imposed a severe strain on the bishop's health, particularly as he was just recovering from the aftereffects of his motor accident last April. In the course of the tour Bishop Holland's personal exertions were responsible for raising £30,000 towards the centennial appeal.
