FRANKLIN HIGHWAYS.

PUKKKOHE, Monday

According to estimates placed before the Franklin County Council to-day, a total of foO.oOT is to be found by the Main Highways Board as subsidies for work on hiphways within the Franklin County this financial year. The amount is made up as follows:—Maintenance, £15,300; renewals, £0589; improvements' and construction, £28,708. The council will be required to raise £16,860, bringing the total sum to be expended on °the highways to £67,463.
