There will be films dealing with current sporting events and road safety matters, supplied by the Covernment, which is strongly supporting this movement. A talk will also be jriven by a man well known in motoring circles, on dispatch riding during the wer.
The transverse stabiliser is fixed to the renr axle at one end and to the frame at the other. It reduce* road vibration and eliminates the tendency a ear has to "wander" or "steer at the renr wheels." The roll control bar fastens to the arm of one shock absorb'-r at one end and to the frame at the other side. It holds the car on a more even keel when roti tiding- corners and increases ea<*e of handling.
The shock absorbers are so mounted that the arm of one extends forward and.on the other the arm extends to the rear, in effect providing two hydraulic torque arms. This is said to reduce the boiindnfr of wheels, which automatically gives better traction and better clutch action. Shock absorbers with the new method of mounting developed by Packard also help take the torque reaction in starting the car and in applying the brakes.
