It is a geat disappointment for Holland that the great Bembrandt Exhibition, which was to be held this summer in Amsterdam, in connection with the forthcoming jubilee of Queen Wilhelmina, who came to the throne forty -years ago, will not take place. fhe reason is that several owners of Bembrandt pictures abroad, especially in the United States, who were quite willing to send their works to Amsterdam for|lthe exhibition, have withdrawn their promises in view of the present international situation.
It if hoped in Amsterdam that it win he possible to organise the exhibition next year. . However, the other celebrations planned in conjunction with the Queen's jubilee will all take placa, . .
