The middle jrrass was open at Takanini this morning for fast work, and the track, after recent rain, was a little on the dead side, but nevertheless it provided good going. •
Flood Tide (Tinker) . and Valamit© (Bartle) ran a mile in 1.48 3-j. after running the first half-mile in 535. They were together for most of the journey, ten over the hist hundred yards Flood Tide drew out and beat V.ilaiiiko by a i.-ngtL. Hood Tide canied much molt- \vc-u:l:t. and his effort was inij>r«»=iva. Silver <;ioir (Vaugrhan) beat Rajanya (Mt-TavWji by three lengths at the end of six furlonss in 1.20 Tbey went fast early, the first three furlong taking 38s. After c:int<-rinff onco round Siega (Smith) jumped oft" at the six-furlong post aiid came !">-ne in 1.21 3-.1. She has. been, wojkh:.: in improved style.
