WIDER SCOPE.

SUPERANNUATION.

GOVERNMENT'S PROPOSALS

INCREASED BENEFITS. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. When the social security proposals of the Government are passed into law during the coming session of Parliament they will be wider in ecope than was originally intended.

This point was confirmed by the Prime Minister, the Right Hon. M. J. Savage, who, while declining to describe the change in detail, declared, "When this bill is presented to Parliament it will be in a form which will excel anything in the civilised world. That is my reply to people who say we cannot afford it. The plan is based on New Zealand's production, and, with the aid of science and invention, it can never be lessened, but should be increased. Unless the people get the benefit of this increased production what is the use of it"
