INSTRUCTIVE FILM STORY.

The romance of rubber was the theme of a film shown by the Dunlop Rubber Company to a large audience at the Regent Theatre last evening. The film, which combined entertainment with instruction, was produced to celebrate the jubilee of the company and dealt with every development in the industry 'since ISSS*. Particularly interesting were the shots depicting the intricate manufacturing processes and the uncanny precision of the unusual typee of machines specially designed for the making of tyres, balls, clothing, boots and shoes, wheels and the scores of articles subsidiary to the production of cycle, motor car and aeroplane tyres. There are few people aware that special rubber boots, complete with "zips." made for eheep or cattle suffering from foot diseases, are a standard line of manufacture. There were also some fine views of the company's rubber plantations in the Malay States, showing the cultivation of the rubber tvees from the seedlings to the stage when they are "tapped."
