SUCCESSFUL BIRKENHEAD PLAYS.: An enjoyable evening was spent in the | parish hall at Birkenhead, when the programme was provided by the reading circle of the Birkenhead Women's Association. The one-act play, ■ "The Imposter," by Mary Scott, was presented by Mesdames T. Cameron (convener), A. E. Wood, L. Moller, Misses Cameron, Mary Cook, and Lorraine Ripley. The old woman and her daughter in the sketch, "The Spell," were respectively taken by Mrs. A. E. Wood and Miss Mary Cook. The stage manager was Mrs. Stanley Mills. Elocutionary items were also given by Mrs. L. Moller.
