FAREWELL SUMMER.

(By Nancy Glllinghnm, Maungakaramea, Whangarel.) The silent, swaying, stately treee Are slowly dropping dainty leaves. Like telegrams they let Uβ know That summer soon will have to go. The many lovely butterflies, Whoeo gay, bright colours match the skies, And help to make the gardens gay, Too soon good-bye will have to 6ay. The birde. that twitter in the morn Will fly away themselves to warm, And perhaps will bring back in the spring Some pretty tunes they've learnt to sing. And when in spring they're all refreshed, In pretty outfite once more dressed, They'll make another seaeon gay. (I wish they would prolong their stay.)
