TAURANGA AFFAIRS.
(From Our Correspondent.) TAURANGA, Friday. The .Minister of Education, the Hon. P. Froflpr, has advised Mr. G. H. .Burnett, H.l\ for Tauranga, that the Cabinet has approved a grant for the Tauranga District High School. It is proposed to erect eix open-air classrooms. There was a large attendance at the annual general meeting of the Tauranga County Licensed Carriers' Association. The president, Mr. E. Hammond, in hi* report, appealed to members to support the association, which was affiliated with the South Auckland council of associations, a strong and active body. The election of officers for the year resulted as follows: —President, Mr. E. Hammond; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. e. Kyan (Te Puke) and C. W. Byrne (Katikati); committee, Messrs. S. L. Hume, S. L. Simon (Tauranga), N. liiggins, H. McCracken and A. Hine.
