COMMITTEE'S REPORT.

NORTHCOTE SCHOOL TEAR. "The Xorthcofij District High School offers splendid facilities in education and other school activities, and should be the central school for the north for eecondary education," stated the annual report of the committee to the parents. The new building for the high schooi was Hearing completion, and would soon be occupied by the secondary school pupils. The manual training block had been remodelled. Part of this was being used for secondary pupils, owing to the increase in numbers attending the school. Owing to encroachment by the new building on the football field, a new layout of the playing area would be necessary.

The roll of the high school was 111 at the beginning of 1937, and 85 at the end, rising to, 120 at March 31 this year. The intermediate department opened with a roll pf 230, and ended with 225.
