MT. EDEN EJECTION.
u CITIZENS' " PLATFORM. A well-attended meefirig was held in the Gordon Road Hall, Mount Eden, last evening when Mr. K. N. Buttle and the members of the Citizens and Ratepayers' ticket were all present. Mr. J. M. Melville, an ex-councillor, was chairman. Mr. Buttle, candidate for the mayoralty, made special reference to the present sound financial position of the borough. In view of this sound financial position the "Citizens" ticket, which comprises seven present councillors, intends to reduce the water rate, abolish the sanitation rate for refuse removal and oppose amalgamation. Messrs. A. T. Dow and A. C. Johns, present councillors, also spoke of the work of the council. Mr. Nesbit C. Snedden offered his services as a business man and a ratepayer and resident to the borough. Mr. R. S. Harrop, another new candidate, spoke of the work of the previous council, which, in his judgment as an accountant, was sound administration. Messrs. S. E. Chappell, O. L. FL-tcher, A. J. Hooton and R. T. Sando were also present.
