NEW SALES RECORD.
FARMERS' TRADING CO. TURNOVER EXCEEDS £2,000,000. INCREASE IN PROFITS. In a preliminary statement dealing with operations for the year ended March 31 the directors of Farmers' Trading Company state that they have decided to recommend to the annual meeting that a dividend of 7 per cent be paid on ordinary shares and the usual dividend on all classes of preference shares. The profits for the year ending March 31 showed an increase on those of the previous 12 months, while sales direct to the consumer, for the first time in the hietory of the company, exceeded £2,000,000. Although considerable sums had been spent on the Hobson Street premises the finances of the company were in a very buoyant condition. The two seats on the board made vacant by the decease of Messrs. R. D. Duxfield aud L. H. McAlpine have been filled by the appointment of Mr. R. H. Ockleston, of Hobsonville, the farmers' representative on the Auckland Milk Council, and Mr. A. S. Sutherland, of Ngaruawahia, a member of the Auckland Harbour Board and the Auckland Land Board. The report and balnnce-sheet will be issued early in June.
