On behalf of the . New Zealand Institute of'-.Horticulture, the Akarana Maori Association, the New Zealand Tourist League, the Auckland Town Planning Association, the Auckland Institute and Museum and the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Institute of Architects; Mr. N. R. W. Thomas, an convenor, has forwarded a cricular letter to the' Auckland Mayoral and City Council candidates, pointing out that the'Auckland'City Council in August, 1937, when adopting a general plan for the development of the Auckland Domain, and -in particular the formation of; a 'service roadway from Stanley Street to the ponds, had placed on record its desire to guard the heritage of the people and had expressed the opinion that there should be no further encroachment on the Domain. The circular letter has asked candidates for an endorsement'of that decision and an expression of personal views on the subject.
