SCHOOLBOY KILLED.
FATALITY NEAR PAEROA.
A long list of,accident cases over the week-end meant a busy time for hospital and ambulance workers. The casualty department at the Auckland Hospital experienced the busiest time for some considerable period and drivers at the St. John ambulance headquarters in Rutland Street were also kept busy with the numerous mi&liaps in the Auckland district-
Fortunately, most of the Auckland nccidcnts were of a minor nature. Falls from bicycles and, collisions on the road were frequent.
The most tragic feature of this accident toll was the death of a young King's College 'boy at Remuera. With two companions lie was experimenting with chemicals when an explosion of lightning suddenness killed him and injured his friends.
The nearest road fatality to Auckland took place near Taeroa, wliere a young woman was killed in a motor smash. The exact cause of this tragedy is unknown, as 110 one saw the accident.
When two oars came into collision near Dannevirke. eight people suffered injury, though only one man, who is prominent in the dairying industry, was badly hurt. His condition is critical.
No drowning tragedies were reported over the week-end, but the number of people injured, apart from those killed, was in the vicinity of 30.
