BODY RECOVERED.
ONEHUNGA FISHERMAN. Found by the daughter of a West Coast settler on Saturday on the beach at Irwin's Gap, about five miles south of the Manukau Heads, the body of Mr. Alfred William Tiscli, fisherman, of Queen Street, Onehunga, was later brought to Onehunga by launch. Mr. Tisch was drown through being swept by a wave from the cockpit of the launch Almora on Monday last. The girl who found the body rode two miles to the house of Mr. J. Irwin, who brought the body back on a horse sledge. Yesterday Mr. Tisch's companions on the ill-fated fishing trip, Messrs. Edward Wallbank and Herbert Gardner, took the body by motor lorrv to the Awhitu wharf. The launch Almora then took it to Onehunga.
An inquest was opened this afternoon by Mr. C. R. Orr-Walker, S.M., coroner, and after evidence of identification had been given by Edward Wallbank, owner of the launch, the proceedings were adjourned sine die.
