Stakes to the value of £3000 will bo given at the autumn meeting of the Bay of Plenty Jockey Club, to be held at Tanranga on March 26 and 28, and the pro.gramme, which is » varied one, should meet with a good response from owners and trainers. The chief event on the first day is the Tauranga Cup of £400, one mile and a quarter, while the Flying Handicap, the open sprint is endowed with £250. On the second day the Herries Memorial, of £300, one mile, and the Railway Handicap, of £200, six furlongs, are the chief attractions. Full particulars are advertised in this issue. Nominations for all events close at 5 p.m. with Messrs. Blomfield and Co.. Shortland Street, Auckland, or at 8 p.m. with the secretary, Mr. .S. G. Willcock, Tauranga, on Friday, March 4.
