STRUCK BY ENGINE.

FATALITY AT NEW LYNN. WOMAN ON RAILWAY LINE. A verdict of death from injuries caused by being accidentally knocked over by a shunting engine near Totara Avenue, New Lynn, on December 22, was returned by the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., yesterday afternoon at the inquest into the death of Mrs. Isobella Mary Dyer aged 55. According to the evidence of an eye witness, Mrs. Dyer wae walking along the railway line J towards the crossing when she was. struck on the baek. In witness' opinion no blame was attachable to the crew of the train. j"People will trespass on the line," eaid the coroner in recording his verdict. "I think .the public, should be reminded of the risk they afe-ruhning by not complying with the by-lawe to use overhead bridges." • ' '■ •■
