CONFERENCE OPENS.
GIRLS' LIFE BRIGADE. WEEK-END PROGRAMME. The fifth Dominion conference of the tiirls' Life Brigade opened to.-dav with the arrival by the Limited of 2:J delegates from all part* of the country. The conference is held once a year in the four centres in turn and this pear there are 40 Auckland officers attending. After luncheon at the homes of the Auckland hostesses, the delegates were the guests of the Auckland Battalion who had arranged a drive through the city's beauty spots. An nflicers' tea will be held at five o'clock" and in the ovening a function of a social nature will be held when all delegates will be officially welcomed. In connection with the church parade which will take place to-morrow, there will be a march by the Auckland Battalion, who, in full uniform and all Bag* will go from Upper Queen Street to the Beiwford Street Congregational Church, The business of the conference will commence on Monday morning when the Dominion President, Mrs. J. Oilman Dunn, of Dunedin. will preside. A special visitor to the conference is Major Blenkinsop, of London, who is here to organise companies and conduct officers' training elastfee.
