Reporting 011 the progress of civil aviation, tlie Air Ministry states that more than 341 tons of letter mail, approximately IS..">00.000 letters, were dispatched by air mail during 1036, compared with 187 tons, or approximately 10,500.000 letters for the same destinations in 1935, and 8G tons of parcels were dispatched compared with 79 tons in 1935. The Empire Christmas mail for 1936 again broke all previous records.
