FIXED FOR ASSAULTING SON'S
According to what was said in the Police Court this morning, I'ercival Henry Jackson, painter, aged 5(5, be- ! coniee over-friendly with Bacchus at, Christmas time. He pleaded guilty to' two charges of assaulting (ieorge Raymond Jackson and Herbert Francis Jackson. | Nub-Inspector Fox said accused re-J turned to his home about 0 o'clock last evening under the influence of liquor and in a quarrelsome mood towards his
wife and sons. After he had tried to asuault his sons tliev succeeded in getting him outside, whereupon he u hurled a bucket and some bricks through the windows. One of the bricks struck one of his sons.
"His sons say it is a habit of Jackson's to take too much litjuor about Christmas time, and that he becomes
unbearable when lie is in liquor,'' added Mr. Fox. | Appearing for Jackson, Mr. Hall Skelton said his client had been given a good hiding. A bloodstained left ear and abrasions on Jackson's face supported this statement. Counsel thought it might be helpful to Jackson if he wan prohibited. "Will you take out a prohibition order or spend 14 dayts in Mount Eden?" Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., a.sked Jackson. "I'll take out the prohibition order," replied Jackson. Mr. Hunt: 1 thought you would. You are fined £1 on one charge and prohibited, and on the other convicted and discharged.
