The parking charge made for motorists using Selwvn Park at Mission Bay is to remain in force, the matter having been discussed from various angles at a special meeting of the Auckland City Council last evening. Mr. L. <T. Coakiey said that it was useless sending the matter back to the committee. Parking on the roads would cost the council more, and tbev would want live or six traffic officers to control it.
Mr. E. P. Andrews said Mission Bav was the heritage of all the people and not onlv the motorists.
Mr. J. Purtell remarked that the whole thing was a storm in a teacup. Miss E. Melville said the reserves committee should make rules for all the popular beaches.
Ihe chairman of the reserves committee. Mr. F. Phelan. said if the legal and by-laws committee had done its duty and cleared the streets there would have been no complaints.
