Well-known critics state that it is no exaggeration to call the film one of the cinematic masterpieces of the year. It la a musical drama that, from all accounts, should meet with the emphatic approval of Auckland theatre-goers. From the opening scene, where' Irene Dunne sings the gay title song, the great action drama is reported to be entertainment of front-ranking class. Randolph Scott, who takes the male lead, plays the role of the grim but courageous pioneer fighting to keep the oil industry free from exploiting capital. It is reported that he is responsible for splendid acting, both as the fearless man of action and the romantic lover. Miss Dunne enters into the spirit of the production and sing* a number of delightful Oscar Hammerstein melodies. Other members of a fine cast are Dorothy Lamour ("The Jungle Princess"), Raymond Walburn, Akim Tamiroff, Elizabeth Patterson and Ben Blue.
