Henry, of the inspectorial staff of the Auckland Education Board, has been appointed to the position of i inspector at Xapier. Mr. I. S. Hardley, of Auckland, returned to Auckland by the Wanganella yesterday after a holiday visit to Australia and the East. Mr. Norton Francis, of Christchurch. has been reappointed a vice-president of the Federated Chambers of Commerce of the British Empire. The Hon. T. Bloodworth. M.L.C., chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, will leave for Wellington by + Jie Limited express to-night. Mr. H. C. Wiles, of Auckland, returned by the Wanganella yesterday after a business trip to the United States, Canada and Europe. Mr. G. Mills, president of the Auckland branch of the Xew Zealand Xational party, was a passenger for Wellington by train yesterday. Sir James Steel-Maitland, managing director of Isteg Steel Products (X.Z.), Limited, returned to Wellington by the ; Awatea this week, after a business trip to Sydney. Mr. B. Allan, Xew Zealand manager for United Artists, Australasia. Limited, was a passenger for Auckland by the Limited express this morning. He is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. A. Hamilton, general manager of the Westport Coal Company, returned to Xew Zealand by the Awatea. He has been on a tour of Canada. Great Britain, the United States, and most of the countries of Europe. Dr. C. W. Bubb, 0.8. E., L.R.C.r., M.R.C.S., and Mrs Bubb. of England, are due to arrive at Wellington 011 December 14 by the Rangitane. They are to stay in Xew Zealand until April 11, spending the greater part of their time in the South Island. Mr. Eric Bierre, head camera-man of Fox Movietone Xews, arrived at Wellington by the Awatea to spernl four or five months in the Dominion making newsreel items. Mr. Bierre has 'With him some of the most modern photographic and sound-recording equipment yet seen in Xew Zealand. Mr. K. Butler, assistant manager of Broken Hill Proprietary, Limited, and Mr. W. J. Todliunter. general superintendent of the company's rolling mills, arrived from Sydney yesterday by the Wanganella on a holiday visit to Xew Zealand. They are at the Grand Hotel. The Very Rev. Father D. Hurley, S.M.. Provincial of the Society of Mary in Xew Zealand, returned to Wellington by the Awatea from a visit to Australia. At Sydney, he attended the ceremony of laying the foundation stone of the new seminary of the Marist Fathers in Australia. The seminary i-i being built in the suburbs of Sydney, near Parramatta. and is to be opened in MVirch next year.
